Who we are

Girls Rising in Training (GRIT) is sport agnostic performance and wellness program designed to elevate and empower youth female athletes.

GRIT was founded by female athletes and coaches who recognized a major gap in how girls and women are trained. They identified an opportunity to take a female specific approach —one that takes a holistic view of the athlete, prioritizing both performance and the full experience of being a female in sport.

Why grit is different

At GRIT, we’re passionate about training female athletes the way they deserve to be trained. We understand that female athletes face unique physical, mental, and emotional challenges that differ from those experienced by their male counterparts.That’s why our programs—including our strength training and performance strategies—are specifically designed for women.

We believe in a holistic approach that focuses not only on athletic performance but also on overall well-being. We train the mind, body, and spirit to ensure that female athletes are empowered both on and off the field. Our programs are designed to provide the right balance of performance training, injury prevention, and mental resilience, all in a safe and encouraging environment.

Why is this important? Female athletes often need different training techniques because of their unique body mechanics, energy patterns, and how they respond to physical activity. Traditional training often doesn’t take these factors into account. That’s where we come in—offering programs built with these needs in mind, providing a more personalized and effective approach for females.

Why we take an Agnostic approach

At GRIT, we believe that female athletes thrive when they work together, regardless of the sport they play. Creating connections with other women in sport fosters a strong sense of community, support, and shared experience. While each sport may have its own unique skills, many of the qualities that make an athlete successful—like leadership, resilience, and teamwork—are universal. When female athletes come together, they inspire and learn from each other, building not only physical strength but also mental toughness. The bonds formed across different sports help athletes see that their abilities are transferable, and they carry these valuable skills into any challenge they face, both on and off the field.
